About
My reporting first began as a junior high student before I joined my high school’s paper, West Side Story, in Iowa City. While reporting on cover stories, I also heavily immersed myself in the performing arts (choir, show choir, theatre, violin) and went viral on YouTube for my K-pop content before the boon in short-form content.
All those interests would coalesce in my subsequent reporting and collegiate experiences. As a freelancer, my work has been featured in The Chicago Tribune, Wisconsin State Journal and Block Club Chicago. At PEOPLE Magazine, I pitched and scooped 21+ high-profile, exclusive interviews and transformed them into in-depth features, majorly focusing on expanding the publication’s K-pop coverage. I also engaged in breaking news, in which I reported anywhere from the rainy sidewalks of New York City to a Central Park bench late at night.
Before that, I worked in The Daily Northwestern newsroom as an assistant arts & entertainment editor, where I shone a spotlight on emerging digital creators. I’ve also engaged in editorial work at industry giants like Paramount and Cushman & Wakefield.
Now, in an entertainment industry whose future seems more chaotic than ever, I’m eager to record the transience of human culture and keep readers informed. In my free time, you can find me running marathons, constantly reading and learning new languages, visiting historical villages and museums and obsessing over a warm cup of matcha latte.
