TREBLEMAKERS

Treblemakers is Northwestern University’s award-winning, co-ed, premier East Asian-interest a cappella group. I joined as a freshman and later became a part of the Exec Board as a Co-Events Manager. Singing in this group has given me life-long memories and I couldn’t be more grateful to be a part of it! To see more performance videos, click here.

CHOIR

Some of my life’s fondest memories took place in Choir from 7th-12th grade. I’ll never forget how I felt when I sang the most beautiful choral songs with my ensembles, whether it was on stage, on tour, in the dance practice room, or within our well-loved choir room.

I had the opportunity to partake in All-State Choir, ISU Honor Choir, Solo/Ensemble Festival (ranked Division 1 for every solo!), Vox Novus (auditioned acapella group), IC West Chorale, and lots more. (Full document of works coming soon!)

SHOW CHOIR

Show choir was one of the activities I looked forward to the most throughout high school. It not only allowed me to sing and dance at the same time, but also encouraged me to perform and compete alongside a group of people that I’d call my second family. I was in Primetime, Showtime, and then Good Time Company (GTC).

During 10th grade, I also had the opportunity to perform the full Whitney Houston song, ‘I Have Nothing,’ as a Special Act on the large, state-of-the-art Hancher Auditorium. To this day, it’s still the largest stage I have ever performed on! It was a moment I’ll never forget.

THEATRE

I first started acting in theatre back in 9th grade. Since then, every role I’ve taken on has allowed me to escape from reality and step into the perspectives of my characters. I couldn’t be more fortunate to have acted in some of the most iconic productions! (listed in chronological order below:)

  • Les Miserables – Urchin Boy
  • Summer Showcase
  • West Side Story – Teresita (Shark)
  • Summer Showcase (Miss Saigon solo number)
  • Miracle on 34th Street – Tammy Mara
  • Sweeney Todd – Beggar Woman
  • She Kills Monsters – Evil Gabbi Succubus
  • NU Freshman Musical ‘Theory of Relativity’ – Catherine

VIOLIN & ORCHESTRA

I began my journey with the violin at 4 years old when I took private lessons with Teacher Sonja Zeithamel at the Preucil School of Music.

Outside of lessons alone, I would become involved with orchestra in junior high, Iowa Junior Honors Orchestra, Kennedy Honors Orchestra, and various Preucil ensembles.

In high school, I advanced through Preucil’s orchestras. As a member of the Preucil School String Orchestra (PSSO), I was able to journey to the Baltics for a tour in the summer of 9th grade. We performed at various venues in Latvia, Lithuania, and Estonia. You can find my published reflection here! (Full document of works to come soon!)
